DHHR Update Indicates Increase of 2 Cases of COVID-19; Deaths Related to Virus now at 75

The West Virginia Department of Health and Human Resources is reporting as of this morning (Saturday, May 30) at 10 a.m., the total number of COVID-19 cases has increased from 1,972 to 1,974; an increase of two.
 
Saturday morning's report is showing that the total number of tests given is 95,890 and the percentage of positive cases vs. tests given is at 2.06 percent. The daily percent positive is at 1.10 percent (daily tests/confirmatory test results)
 
According to the DHHR website, Harrison County's number of positives is at 39 with one death and 20 recoveries. The first report on Friday morning had Harrison County's number at 40.
 
As case surveillance continues at the local health department level, it may reveal that those tested in a certain county may not be a resident of that county, or even the state as an individual in question may have crossed the state border to be tested.  
 
Also, the DHHR is reporting the number of statewide deaths has increased from 74 to 75. The 75th death is a 96-year-old male from Fayette County.
 
The number of recoveries from the virus is at 1,290.
