In this photo from the Connect-Clarksburg Facebook page, it shows the Sutton Inn located at Eastpointe along Emily Drive being demolished after serving the area for many years. Prior to it becoming the Sutton Inn, it was a national chain hotel that also served the area - particularly travlers going up Interstate 79 as well as oil and gas workers in recent years.

 

The business closed on July 20. Recently, Joe R. Pyle auctioned off the interior contents in an online auction.

 

As for the future, a recent WBOY report quoted Clarksburg City Manager Martin Howe said the city was working with a developer on aproject for the site in quesiton. He further went on to say that the project would be announced at the appropriate time.
