A morning truck fire in White Oaks brought two Bridgeport fire crews to the scene. The incident happened just after 8:15 a.m. on Sweetbrier Lane. 

 

“It was in the parking lot of Holiday Inn Express,” said Bridgeport Firefighter/Paramedic Matt Reed.” The driver is an oil field worker. He had spent the night at the hotel and was already out on a job when the fire started.”

 

Although the cause of the fire is yet to be determined, it initially appears that it originated in the engine.

 

“That’s where the bulk of the fire was when we arrived,” Reed said.

 

The vehicle, a full-size Dodge pick-up, was likely totaled, he said.

 

Two engines were dispatched and were able to extinguish the fire quickly, Reed said.
