Due to Component Failure on Equipment, Bridgeport Announces Closure of Compton Park Playground

By Connect-Bridgeport Staff on February 03, 2025 via Connect-Bridgeport.com

FROM THE CITY OF BRIDGEPORT

Due to an unforeseen failure of a playground component, the playground at Compton Park will be closed for the foreseeable future. The structure, which was slated to be replaced in the coming years, will be demolished and removed from the park as soon as possible. The city promises Compton playground will come back better than ever.

The city is currently looking for a replacement unit for the park. City officials are hoping to have a new unit installed by late spring, early summer.

The city apologizes for any inconvenience. Any questions can be directed to Joe Shuttleworth, Director, Bridgeport Parks and Recreation Department at 304-842-8240.
