Expected Road Closures and Traffic Delays on US 50 Eastbound as Road Work Continues

By Connect-Bridgeport Staff on June 25, 2018 via Connect-Bridgeport.com

The West Virginia Division of Highways advises motorists that there will be a Road Closure/Traffic Delay on US 50 Eastbound at the Downtown Salem Exit on Monday, June 25, 2018 beginning at 8 p.m. through 6 a.m.

The purpose for the closure is setting bridge girders on US 50 Eastbound Lanes.  A rolling road block will be utilized to slow traffic during the installation of 2 girders being set on the new bridge structure, Eastbound only.  Westbound Downtown Salem Exit will be closed due to crane location.  The US 50 Westbound Lane will be open.  The West Main Street Exit will be open to detour traffic.  All super/wide loads will NOT be permitted to use the West Main Street Exit to detour through the City of Salem.  Alternate routes will be the West Main Street Exit (County Route 50/28), Jacobs Run Road (County Route 50/73), Dog Run (County Route 50/1).

Motorists are advised to plan ahead and allow additional time for their commute.  Please note that inclement weather or unforeseen circumstances could change the project schedule.
