Farmers Market Items Available for Purchase through Vendors

Because of the COVID-19 pandemic, Bridgeport Farmers Market has cancelled the season’s last winter market, which had been scheduled for April 5 at Bridgeport Conference Center. In addition to looking forward to the first outdoor market of 2020 – slated for May 17 – the market suggests contacting vendors directly to purchase items.

“If people really rely on the market for staples – meat and eggs, etc. throughout the year – the winter market is especially important because it’s only once a month, so people stock up,” said Debbie Workman, BFM board of directors.

Market vendors are listed on the Bridgeport Farmers Market Web site, bridgeportfarmersmarket.com.

“Go to the vendor list and click on a vendor and the link will take you to either a Web site or Facebook page,” Workman said. “You can also contact vendors through email or Messenger.”

Workman suggests that market customers follow its social media platforms for news and updates.

“We are still posting every day and some of our meat vendors are thinking about taking orders and making deliveries,” she said. “So, if we get any of that information about a particular vendor, we’ll be sharing it through social media.”
