Final Testing to be Held Friday, May 20, to Become a West Virginia State Trooper in the 71st Cadet Class

West Virginia State Police remind residents who are interested in become a Trooper that there is one final testing being done and that is tomorrow, May 20, at the State Police Academy. Individuals can apply on line, but walk-ins are welcome.

Day of Testing Details
Please make note of the following important items on testing day:
- Registration will start at 8:00 AM
- Testing will begin at 9:00 AM
- You will be directed to park on the Main Lot
- Please leave all phones, smart watches in your vehicle
- You will be required to provide photo identification upon check in
- Please bring a small bag of appropriate physical fitness attire (shorts, t-shirts, running shoes). No offensive clothing is permitted.
Order of testing phases will be as follows:
1. Written Test??
2. PT Test (push-ups, sit-ups and timed 1.5-mile timed run)
3. Suitability
- You must successfully pass the written test to proceed to the next phases
- Applicants advancing to the suitability test will plan to stay all afternoon
- No enlistments will be made on this first day of testing
