Former First Lady Shelley Moore Passes at 88; Funeral Arrangements Listed

On Monday, the funeral arrangements were announced for former West Virginia First Lady Shelley Moore, who was the wife of the former Gov. Arch Moore. She was by his side through 12 years as governor, including first from1969 to 1977 and then from 1985 to 1989. 
 
Moore, the longest-serving First Lady in West Virginia’s history, passed away Saturday at the age of 88 after battling Alzheimer’s Disease for several years.
 
A visitation is planned for Friday from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. in Charleston at the University of Charleston’s Rotunda.  On Friday evening, a visitation will be held from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Grisell Funeral Home in Moundsville.
 
A funeral service for Moore is scheduled for 11 a.m. Saturday at Simpson United Methodist Church in Moundsville.  The family will receive visitors starting at 9:30 a.m.
