Former WVU Cornerback and Member of Super Bowl Champ Squad Arrested; Cut by Eagles Same Day

By Connect-Bridgeport Staff on April 18, 2018 via Connect-Bridgeport.com

According to this report from MetroNews, Daryl Worley’s month-long stint with the Philadelphia Eagles ended Sunday with his release, mere hours after the cornerback was arrested for being combative with police.

The former West Virginia standout and third-round pick was taken into custody around 6 a.m. Sunday after Philadelphia police reportedly found him passed out inside a vehicle blocking a section of Broad Street near the Eagles’ facility. The NFL Network reported that an unregistered gun was confiscated from the vehicle and Worley had to be tased by police.

Worley made 25 starts in his first two seasons for the Carolina Panthers before being traded to the Eagles for receiver veteran Torrey Smith in March, a deal that seemed one-sided at the time.
