“That’s an hour’s worth of service all over the body,” she said.

 

The local Linea Esthetics is owned by Cheley Gabriel, who was so captivated by the Brazilian methodology and results, she brought them back home.

 

“Chelee frequented many spas here in Bridgeport, but while in Brazil she went into Linea Esthetics and then talked with owners about opening a franchise here in the U.S.,” Indseth said. “It is very popular in the large community of Campinas, but this is the company’s first shot at bringing it to the U.S.”

 

Although the U.S. consumer, on average, spends more money on beauty, Brazil is the beauty capital of the world, Gabriel said.

In order to offer the highest quality services, Cheley took some time in hiring a competent staff. Julie Barriger is the spa’s lead esthetician.

 

“I moved up here last year from Florida, where I worked 30 years in the beauty industry, but this is my first experience with Brazilian techniques,” she said “No. 1, I love that they work. There are techniques that redistribute fat that are absolutely amazing. It seems very simple, but we as Americans never knew anything about it until now.”

 

Barriger works with dermatome machines and radio frequency, the latter which works down to the dermal layer of the skin – utilizing natural heat - from the inside out - getting rid of fine lines by restoring collagen and elastins which are naturally lost during the aging process.

Ultrasound has been around for a long time, but not for this purpose, Barriger said.

 

“It’s now excellent for cellulite, going into the skin and breaking up fat, thereafter redistributing it,” she said.

 

“It’s really crazy stuff,” Barriger said, “and in my opinion, produces results you would otherwise only get surgically – and there’s no pain involved whatsoever.”
