Instructed by law enforcement from Bridgeport Police Department and Harrison County Sheriff's Department, the annual FOP Junior Police Academy took place this week at Bridgeport Middle School. A week-long training session concentrated on an array of law enforcement topics and skills, from gun safety and target practice to marching maneuvers and an understanding of special force police teams.

The academy also featured a community service project - a car wash free to the public - and an afternoon of reward at Bridgeport Pool.

Friday afternoon, the graduation ceremony took place at the BMS gymnasium with 75 junior police cadets receiving certificates.

Under the direction of Bridgeport Police Sgt. Bart Sayers, the cadets marched into the gymnasium and took their formation for the ceremony. Each was recognized and received a certificatte of completion.

Following the graduation, a reception was held in the school cafeteria.
