Cathy Jo Canterbury, GFWC Junior Director, was the guest speaker for the September meeting of the GFWC Woman’s Club of Bridgeport. Canterbury spoke about all the new changes that have been introduced to the Junior and General clubs throughout not only West Virginia, but the United States as well. She also talked about the wonderful opportunity it was to have accepted her new position and making new GFWC friends during her travels and visiting club meetings.

 

Carol Rogers, a new member, was installed by Canterbury during the meeting.

 

The annual craft and photography competition was held. Winners will be entered in the North Central District craft show. First place winners are Lenore Hinkle, photography; Rita Miles, Shirley Hadorn, Charlotte Cathell, Mary Matheny, Willa Brand, Judy Osborne and Betsy Shearer; crafts.

 

Also, members accepted a challenge from the GFWC Junior Club to sing and dance two lines from any song to raise money and awareness for “Saving Eliza O’Neil.” Eliza is a four-year old suffering from Sanfilippo Syndome. (See that video HERE.)
