For nearly a decade Dominion Resources has sponsored the Dominion Charity Golf Tournament and to-date has raised nearly $2-million for local charities. On Monday, September 22, 2014, Dominion will once again host the annual event at the Pete Dye Golf Club in Bridgeport.

Last year the event raised more than $125,000, which benefited several charitable and educational organizations in North Central West Virginia, including, Kelly Miller Foundation, Health Access, Clarksburg Mission, Our Neighbor, Special Olympics, Camp-Catch-Your-Breath, WVU School of Medicine, Fairmont State University and others.

“We are very appreciative of the support Dominion has received over the past 18 years.” stated Bob Orndorff, Dominion’s managing director of state & local affairs in W.Va. “Seventeen organizations and charities will benefit through the money the event raises. Every dollar goes to charity and the minimum donation to any one group is $2,000 and our goal this year is $130,000.”

Orndorff added “Over 100 golfers from as far away as Texas and Louisiana will be participating in the charity event. They support and invest in the natural gas industry in West Virginia and look forward to returning to the Mountain State to enjoy our hospitality and participate in this charitable event.”
