Greater Harrison County PSD Gets a $500,000 Grant from Infrastructure and Jobs Development Council

The West Virginia Infrastructure and Jobs Development Council announced $25.9 million in funding for sewer and water projects around the state at its meeting on March 6. Details for the projects are listed below.

Boone County PSD
The council approved a $474,189 grant to the Boone County Public Service District (PSD) for a water extension to the Rock Creek Development Park. These funds, along with funds from the U.S. Economic Development Authority (USEDA) and the Boone County Commission, provide $5 million for this project.

Greater Harrison County PSD
The council approved a $500,000 grant to the Greater Harrison PSD for a sewer extension to retire its Woodstock lagoon. These funds, along with funds from the Clean Water State Revolving Loan Fund (CWSRF), provide $1 million for this project.

Lewis County EDA
The council approved a $1 million grant and a $4,677,783 loan to the Lewis County Economic Development Authority (EDA) for a water extension to serve 167 homes along Oil Creek, Copley, Wolfpen and Wheeler Fork. These funds, along with funds from the Community Development Block Grant program, Drinking Water Treatment Revolving Fund, the Lewis County Commission, the Lewis County EDA and other funding programs, provide $7 million for this project.

Kanawha PSD - Town of Pratt
The council approved a $790,000 grant to the Kanawha PSD for improvements to the Pratt sewer system along Campbell Avenue.

New Creek PSD
The council approved a $1 million grant to the New Creek PSD in Mineral County for improvements to its sewer system and an extension to serve approximately 100 homes in Great Oak Valley and along Pine Swamp Road. These funds, along with funds from the CWSRF, the U.S. Department of Agriculture and other funding programs, provide $7.4 million for this project.
 
Northern Jackson County PSD
The council approved a $1.5 million grant to the Northern Jackson County PSD to extend water service to approximately 15 homes along Garfield Heights Road. Also, the council approved a $500,000 grant to the Northern Jackson County PSD for improvements to its water system. These funds along with funds from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), the Jackson County Commission and other funding programs, provide $2.5 million for this project.
 
Pendleton County PSD
The council approved a $500,000 grant to the Pendleton County PSD to extend water service to approximately 25 homes along Sandy Ridge Road and Moatstown. These funds, along with funds from the USACE, provide $2 million for this project.
 
City of Pennsboro
The council approved a $1 million grant to the City of Pennsboro for improvements to its sewer system. These funds, along with funds from the CWSRF, USACE and other funding programs, provide $5.9 million for this project.
 
City of Weirton
The council approved a $14 million loan to the City of Weirton to increase the capacity of its water treatment plant. These funds, along with funds from congressional directed spending and matching funds, provide $42.1 million for this project.
