A wedding expo slated for Sunday, Feb. 25 at Bridgeport Conference Center will not only feature this year’s bridal trends and styles, but also the state of West Virginia.

 

“It’s our mission to feature our beautiful state as a destination for engagements, weddings and honeymoons,” said Carmela Trippett Irwin, owner of Infinity Studios Event Planning, expo co-host. “We will be featuring the best wedding vendors around the state.”

 

All featured vendors are wedding-specific, hand selected from throughout the state. Couples can browse everything from gowns, accessories, flowers, décor and cake to wedding and honeymoon destinations across the Mountain State.

 

Both brides and grooms are invited to take part in the expo, which organizers said is unique from others in the area.

 

“Our expo is very different than other expos as we actually decorate each room with a different theme to show brides and grooms what those themes would look like carried out in a wedding,” Irwin said. “Our man cave is a saloon theme with rustic décor. We are super excited about that room this season. Our princess parlor features girlie-girl vendors and will have a spring floral chandelier, as well as many other amazing decorations, which are all rentals from Infinity Events/Rentals.”

 

Featured guest speakers will address wedding-related topics, providing useful information for couples planning their big day.

 

"We have a representative from Bridgeport Conference Center talking about what you can expect to pay for venues and a makeup artist teaching a few tips, tricks and techniques on wedding makeup application and options available - having someone do your makeup versus teaching you how," Irwin said.

 

The expo runs 1-4 p.m. Those arriving first will receive some swag.

 

“The first 150 brides will receive adventure bag to take with them, as well as West Virginia’s premier wedding expo magazine that lists all of the vendors,” Irwin said.

 

Thousands of dollars in prizes will be awarded. The expo is co-hosted by Dream Vacations.
