PRESS RELEASE

The Benedum Airport Authority enthusiastically announces SkyWest Airlines, operating as United Express, will begin service to Chicago O’Hare and Washington Dulles on November 1, 2017. Passengers can now book their flights online at www.united.com. SkyWest Airlines’ daily flights will be provided on the 50-seat Canadair Regional jet operated by one of the most reliable regional air carriers in the nation.

“Travelers in our region can now book flights to just about anywhere in the world with our new carrier, United Express,” said Benedum Airport Authority Chair, Ron Watson. “Everyone is strongly encouraged to fly from CKB this fall and experience the convenience and reliability the new jet service provides.”

To assist in meeting customer expectations, SkyWest is asking residents to participate in an online air service survey. The survey (https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/OOCKB) aims to uncover top travel concerns of the community while providing a deeper understanding of how air service is viewed. For their time, participants will be entered into a random drawing to win two roundtrip tickets to either Chicago O’Hare or Washington Dulles. The survey will be open through August 31, 2017 with the winner selected and notified on September 1, 2017.

In early August, the Department of Transportation selected SkyWest Airlines to be North Central West Virginia Airport’s new essential air service airline. Headquartered in St. George, Utah, SkyWest operates in partnership with the world’s largest network carriers including United Airlines.  SkyWest service at the North Central West Virginia Airport is marketed as United Express providing full access to the United network including baggage transfers and seamless bookings complete with connections around the world.

“The survey SkyWest is undertaking shows they care about how their airline product is viewed,” said Rick Rock, North Central West Virginia Airport Director. “Whether you travel for business or leisure, we want your input. It will only make us stronger.”
