Principal Vicki Huffman and Assistant Principal Heather Holbert have released important dates and events for the 2015-16 school year at Johnson Elementary.

 

As done in the past, welcome back postcards will be sent home to each student listing his or her homeroom teacher’s name prior to Johnson Elementary School’s Open House.

 

Here are dates and events to keep in mind:

 

August 6, 8:30 a.m. - NOON

New Student Registration

 

 

Although this is the formal date for new student registration, any families new to the area are welcome to stop by the school between 8:30 AM - 11:00 AM any weekday prior to August 6 to get registered. 

 

August 11, 6 p.m. – 7 p.m.

Kindergarten Parent Orientation

 

This is an informational meeting for the parents of any upcoming Johnson kindergartener.  It is requested that students do not attend.  During this meeting, parents will make an appointment for either August 13, August 14, or August 17 for their child to come in, meet his/her teacher, and visit the classroom. 

 

August 12, 3 p.m. – 6 p.m.

1st through 5th Grade Open House

 

Families are invited to come in and meet the Johnson teachers and visit classrooms.  Hotdogs, popcorn, and cookies will be provided by the PTA and served in the cafeteria. 

 

August 13

 

First Day of School for 1st through 5th Grade Students - This is a full instructional day.

 

August 13, August 14, August 17

 

Kindergarten Open House - By appointment.

 

August 18

 

First Day of School for Kindergarten Students - This is a full instructional day.
