Local Young Entrepreneur Jeffrey Chalfant, a BHS Senior, Opens Storage Facility in Shinnston

Television shows like Storage Wars and Baggage Battles showcase valuable and strange collections of people who use storage units. In reality, Americans now have nearly two and a half billion square feet of storage units for self-storage, highlighting a trend toward the benefits of stockpiling personal items somewhere other than one’s home.

Current Bridgeport High School senior and BHS DECA President, Jeffrey Chalfant, recently opened the area’s newest storage facility, located at 6155 Benedum Drive in Shinnston. The facility is located approximately two miles off Interstate 79, exit 125. Emerald Point, LLC Self-Storage offers 10 units that are 10 feet by 20 feet and include lighting and security cameras.

“The reasons people use storage units can vary greatly,” said Chalfant. “Sometimes they just want to live minimally and free up space in their home, sometimes they are in a period of transition or downsizing, and sometimes the items stored are sentimental and they simply are not ready to part with them.”

“Rather than risking damage in a damp basement, many prefer the ease of a storage facility, where they can organize seasonal items, keep inventory for business, or store furniture they plan to pass down to their children,” said Chalfant.

Monthly leases are $75 and yearly leases are priced at $65 per month.

“Emerald Point is a clean, safe place to store goods and is easily accessible to those in both Bridgeport and Shinnston,” he said.

Anyone interested in renting a unit may contact Jeffrey via phone at (304) 669-5068. He also mentioned you can email inquiries to emeraldpointllc@gmail.com or communicate on Facebook by accessing the Emerald Point, LLC Self-Storage page.
