The Mountain State has a new Professional Choir, Maestri Vocale (Masters of Voices). The group is made up of professional artists who are teachers and/or church musicians. The choir is a men’s ensemble consisting of singers from the North Central and Northern parts of the state. This group was created to give West Virginian professional musicians, who sing, a performance, educational, and networking platform. Maestri Vocale is unique as the members of the group share leadership responsibilities in picking repertoire and conducting it. Current members include:

 

Maestri Vocale’s first concert will be on Sunday August 25^th at 6p.m. at Bridgeport United Methodist Church. The inaugural concert will focus on sacred literature from various Christian faiths and will feature music from several time periods and styles. The concert is free, although donations to the organization are welcomed. Current members are listed below:

-          David Scherrick (John Marshall High School & Mary’s Catholic Church Martins Ferry, Ohio )

-          Joshua Stubbs (Notre Dame High School & First Baptist Church of Weston)

 

Basses:
