By Trina Runner on February 20, 2017 via Connect-Bridgeport.com

Main Street Bridgeport will be hopping tonight as the first “Main Street Monday” launches from 5:30p.m. to 7:30p.m.  The event, created by Create Bridgeport+Clarksburg, will celebrate the downtown area, incorporating merchant specials, live music and art.

“Each year, crowds gather for the annual Light Up Night event.  Working from that momentum, we created a monthly event to gather together in a family-friendly activity and enjoy the community in which we live,” said organizer Amanda Cunningham.

Many of the stores along Main Street will stay open late and offer discounts and specials to those who attend.  Additionally, tickets will be distributed at each participating location, culminating in a drawing at the end of the night.

“We want to encourage attendance and make sure people visit each place,” said organizer Vicki Angotti. “We decided to have a prize drawing based on the number of tickets submitted.”
