It's another week for WDTV's "Tasty Tuesday" report and for those living in Bridgeport or visiting, here's a profile on a place to meet your sweet tooth needs a little more at a new location in Bridgeport. It's minutes away from just about anywhere in the city.

Since day one, Bonnie Belle's has always been about family.

"I think it makes people feel like part of something," said Desi Underwood, one of the pastry decorators at the bakery.

In 1947, Richard Hawkins and his wife Bonnie Belle opened their first shop in a barn, before opening their store in Nutter Fort.

"My family has been coming here since it opened; my great-grandparents came and so it's kind of like a tradition to come here," said customer Maddi Dillon.

This August, they opened their new storefront in Bridgeport.

"I really like their cookies, they've been my favorite for a long time. My mom would always get them for us when we were little and I grew up eating them," said another customer, Isabelle Cunanan.

The Hawkins passed the bakery down to their late son, Jim and his wife, Linda. Now, Linda and her son, Patrick, run the bakery and still use the original recipes.

"Everything is homemade and people known that," Underwood said.
