By Connect-Bridgeport Staff on June 13, 2019 via Connect-Bridgeport.com

Five different jazz ensembles performing throughout the evening in five different uptown Clarksburg, West Virginia, venues will mark the West Virginia Jazz Society’s ninth annual production of the Summer Jazz Stroll on Friday, June 14. There are no cover charges for any of the evening’s performances

According the Summer Jazz Stroll Event Guide, the first show starts at 5 p.m. in Waldomore, a historic mansion in Clarksburg’s business district, with a performance by the WVU Jazz Ambassadors.  Additional sets at 6 p.m. and 7 p.m. are scheduled.

“The Waldomore show will be a ‘listening room format, so we discourage any chitchat,” said Katherine Gorko with the Harrison County Historical Society, the hosting group.  “We are scheduling an early starting time of 5 p.m.  We are thinking that will open things for families to share music with young children.”

Two S. 4th Street locations will feature bands playing one-hour sets at 6 p.m., 7:15 p.m. and 8:30 p.m.  Kid Kurtis & Crew is in the Jazz Stroll HQ and The Borders Quintet is in the Aquarium.

Two of the original Summer Jazz Stroll venues will feature sets at 7 p.m., 8:15 p.m. and 9:30 p.m.  Pittsburgh’s Funky Fly Project will play in Washington Square while The Chris McGraw Band, based in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, will play in Kelly’s Irish Pub.

The Jazz Stroll HQ and Waldomore plan to offer complimentary light refreshments, while Kelly’s, Washington Square and The Aquarium have full restaurants and legal beverages.
There is a $20 food and beverage minimum for table seating in Washington Square, where reservations are highly recommended due to the interest in the Funky Fly Project.
