Driving through the historic district in the popular tourist town of Fayetteville, West Virginia, you'll come across an unassuming building that at first glance, looks like a humble family cottage. The building itself is more than one hundred years old. According to owner, Lewis Rhinehart, the building and its ambiance were the original inspiration for the Secret Sandwich Society.

As you tread gingerly down the historic stone steps to the main entrance, the melodic jazz music will catch your ear and take you back to a time when the President wore a fedora and alcohol was forbidden.

These days, locally brewed beers and ciders seem to flow through the taps like the New River on a warm March day. They use a constantly rotating tap-system. So there are always new brews to try.

The shrewdly-designed menu although overwhelming at first, can be broken down into a few simple categories. All their sandwiches are named after their token Presidents. Their burgers are secret service code names for Presidents and the salads are named after First Ladies. That's because much of their private lives are shrouded in secret, even today.
