OBITUARTY COURTESY OF AMOS CARVELLI FUNERAL HOME

On August 31, Jason Wayne Lindsay passed from this life into the arms of his Heavenly Father as a result of a fatal ATV accident at the young age of 40. Born on July 12, 1974, Jason is survived by his mother Mary Kay Lindsay of Clarksburg, father Jerry Lindsay of Bridgeport and brothers Adam and Mark Lindsay of Clarksburg. Jason will be missed by his beautiful wife Casie, and was dearly loved and looked up to by daughters Morgan (18) and Gracelyn (2) and son Gabriel (5).

Jason grew up at Maple Lake and attended Bridgeport High School and graduated in 1992. Jason was raised in a large Italian family, who always found ways to celebrate with food and fellowship. His love for cooking became evident early in life when he asked Santa for a mixer. Jason's love for the kitchen blossomed into a lifelong dream when he, his mother, brothers and special co-workers John (Norm) Clifton and Dave Yocco opened the Gourmet Café in Bridgeport in 1996.

As God blessed and expanded the business an additional eatery was opened in Glen Elk which was formerly his grandpa's garage where he played as a child. In 2010 the doors were opened and the establishment was dedicated to his grandparents John and Mary Marino, who loved him dearly. Jason was preceded in death by his father-in-law, Frank Fazio, grandparents, Mary and John Marino and Charles Lindsay, and Aunt Pam Lindsay Swiger.

Jason loved life and greeted each new day with a huge smile that was infectious. He had an exuberant personality that was fed by a tender big heart for those in need. Jason was an avid outdoorsman, a great skier and strong swimmer. He enjoyed being on the boat and especially fishing with Morgan and Gabe. Jason was a thrill seeker and enjoyed displaying fireworks for family, friends and anyone brave enough to watch. Jason loved family and friends and touched many lives whether it be cooking, delivering lunches or catering a special occasion.

He will be truly missed by all his aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Huntington Bank, c/o Casie Lindsay, 230 W Pike Street, Clarksburg, WV 26301, for the benefit of Jason's children.

Family and friends may call at the Amos Carvelli Funeral Home, 201 Edison Street, Nutter Fort on Thursday, Sept. 4, 2014 from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. Per his request, Jason will be cremated following the visitation.
