Led by Astronaut Jon McBride, a West Virginia native, new members of the West Virginia Aviation Hall of Fame and was on hand for the initial class of the Wall of Valor were inducted. State Adjutant General Major General James Hoyer did the Wall of Valor inductions.

Former North Central West Virginia Airport Director James Griffith, who recently passed, was one of two inducted into the Aviation Hall of Fame. Aviator Samuel Frankman was the other inductee.

Two members were part of the first Wall of Valor Class, which was created to honor professionals in aviation with service in the military. Retired General Herb Wheeler was honored as was Army Chief Warrant Officer 4 Brent Cole. Cole was killed in action in Afghanistan.

The evening began with dinner at the Bridgeport Conference Center. Following dinner, participants were taken to the private event at the Robinson Grand.
