Photos and Video: City of Bridgeport Easter Egg Hunt is Dashing Success; Hundreds Turn Out

The setting was picture perfect. It was a beautiful sunny spring afternoon and more than 3,500 candy-filled Easter eggs dotted the all-purpose field at Bridgeport Recreation Complex. Even the Easter Bunny was on hand. And hundreds of little ones turned out for the fun. Once everyone was gathered at the starting line, Bridgeport Parks and Recreation Deputy Director Joe Shuttleworth gave the signal and in under a minute, all the colorful eggs had been scooped up and placed in baskets and bags brought by children, many of whom were in their Easter best for the occasion. Though the egg hunt itself was concluded quickly, families hung around the complex for the better part of an hour, enjoying visits with the Easter Bunny, the yield of sweet treats and the blue skies above.
