Bridgeport Police are looking for witnesses who might help with investigation of a Thursday afternoon accident at Johnson Avenue and I-79.

Units were dispatched at 2:35 p.m. Jan. 17 to a two-vehicle accident involving a white Subaru Outback (West Virginia license) and a gold Chevrolet Equinox SUV (Pennsylvania license).

“The Outback was traveling west on Johnson Avenue and the Equinox was coming off the southbound ramp attempting to turn left onto Johnson Avenue,” said Bridgeport Police Sgt. C.W. Barto.

Both drivers claimed they had a greenlight, but no witnesses could confirm either claim.

“Nobody on scene could provide statements,” Barto said.

The damage to both vehicles was substantial enough for them to be towed from the scene by Dan Riggs Towing.

If anyone can provide any information that would help with the investigation, please contact Officer Isaac Thomas by calling 304-842-8260.
