Rain may have been a factor in a mid-day vehicle accident on Route 50 Friday. It was just after 12 p.m. when Bridgeport Police responded to the wreck at the intersection to the shopping plaza which houses Goodwill, Ollie’s and Home Depot. The incident involved two vehicles: a Chevy Colorado pick-up and a commercial truck. It appears that the Colorado was exiting the shopping plaza, making a right-hand turn at the light and entering the westbound lane of U.S. Route 50, when it struck the delivery truck from behind. There were no injuries to either driver or to the juvenile passenger of the Colorado. The pick-up was towed from the scene by Dan Riggs Towing.
