Remodel Complete: Main Street Fitness Doubles Space

By Julie Perine on December 09, 2017 via Connect-Bridgeport.com

Brandi Post looks forward to ringing in the new year when new fitness classes will be added to offerings of her business, Main Street Fitness and expanded space – thanks to a recent remodel – will be utilized by her clients.

With the recent rebuild by local contractor and Bridgeport businessman, Mark Bonamico, Post has nearly doubled space at the business which she began back in 2015.

“The whole upstairs was gutted out and it’s all brand new and downstairs, we knocked out walls, adding more room for clients, as well as an addition for babysitting,” she said. “We did exterior work, too – a complete uplift with new siding and stone. We also added lights around the whole building to keep it well-lit for nighttime and our morning classes when it’s still dark outside.”

The downstairs upgrades are already being enjoyed by clients and the new upper floor will be utilized beginning Jan. 1, at which time a series of new classes will start with additional instructors. Like the space, the class schedule will practically double.

“I wanted to add some new fitness classes that aren’t currently being offered in the area and also have more classes to eliminate some of the waitlist time,” Post said. “The new upstairs space will allow us to have two classes going on at once.”

Popular classes such as spinning and Body Pump, among others, fill up fast. New to the Main Street Fitness offerings will the Tabata, which combines 20 seconds of high-intensity workout with 10 seconds of rest for maximum calorie burn and results; TRX Suspension Training, utilizing gravity as resistance and constantly challenging the core for true total body workout; Zumba, the high-calorie burn dance workout; Hot Yoga, done in a heated room to help stretch, detoxify, relieve stress, tone and heal; and PX90, a total body strength and cardio-conditioning workout.

Those will be added to an already wide repertoire of classes, including Les Mills GRIT Plyo, R.I.P.P.E.D., RUMBLE, Full Body Blast, Les Mills Body Pump and Body Pump Express, among others.

“All classes are great for all levels,” Post said. “I suggest all beginners to start with the class called ‘LesMills Body Pump’ – a group-based barbell class to work all your major muscle groups, focusing on low weight loads and high repetition movements. You’ll burn fat, gain strength and quickly produce lean body muscle conditioning.”
On board as instructors are Kristen Cooley, Rama Oliverio, Lara Hartzell, Jason Bach, Amanda Romano, Ashley McCall, Ashley D'Annunzio, Beth Nuzum, Brittany Alexander, Daniel Post, Eric Lopez, Jennifer Albright, Kim Kinkelaar, Lexi Pinti, Meredith Alvarez, Molly Cooper, Rebecca Bishop, Sariah Waldron and Post.

There is no membership fee at Main Street Fitness. Clients pay per class, but the first time attending each class is free. After that, classes can be purchased five for $37.45, 10 for $69.55 or 20 for $128.40. A class schedule can be viewed and classes booked by uploading the MindBody app.
