Renderings were recently released showing the upcoming Middletown Commons in Fairmont.

 

Blank storefronts and an empty parking lot have made the Middletown Mall a blip on the map of Fairmont. But, through a planned renovation, Chris Wilbert of Premier Commercial Real Estate Services has high hopes for the property.

 

"Ultimately, it is going to become the centerpiece at the heart of North Central West Virginia," said Wilbert.

 

Wilbert said that construction began about six months ago and will continue for multiple years.

 

"Right now, we are talking multiple restaurants, multiple retail outlets. We have multiple [letters of intent] already out and signed. We are entertaining the concept of possibly a hotel in there. We are looking at possible putting some cinemas in there as well," said Wilbert.
