Rescue Made at Dawson/Meadowbrook Roads; Bridgeport Among Responding Units

Bridgeport Fire Department was among units dispatched to a rescue situation this morning at Dawson and Meadowbrook roads.
 
“The call we received was that there was a worker trapped under some type of box or storage container,” said a representative of Harrison County Emergency Services about the call which came in at 8:35 a.m.
 
Spelter Volunteer Fire Department was the primary responder. Also responding to the call were Bridgeport and Lumberport, as well as Harrison County EMS.
 
According to Harrison County EMS, one patient was transported to United Hospital Center.
 
The incident did occur at Waste Management, said Public Affairs Coordinator Amanda Marks Cunningham.
 
The incident involved a third-party customer and did require medical attention, she said.
 
Pending further investigation, Waste Management can release no more information at this time, Cunningham said.
