Restaurant at Evansdale Crossing, Waldo's Chicken on WVU Campus, Closed Due to COVID Exposure

By Connect-Bridgeport Staff on March 03, 2021 via Connect-Bridgeport.com

West Virginia University announced today (March 3) the Waldo’s Chicken location at Evansdale Crossing has temporarily closed after WVU was notified of a COVID-19 exposure at the storefront.

A reopening date for the location has not been determined but will be announced in the near future.

After learning of the COVID-19 exposure, the University immediately implemented its safety protocols, initiating a deep cleaning of the space.
WVU also is working closely with the Monongalia County Health Department in its case investigation and contact tracing.

The University’s dining facilities underwent significant changes prior to the start of the fall semester to enhance health and safety precautions. As a result, anyone who visited the Waldo’s Chicken location should self-monitor for symptoms, but health experts say potential exposure in this environment is minimal.

Students and employees can learn more about how to respond to potential COVID-19 exposure at the What to Do If ... page of the Return to Campus website.

Editor's Note: This marks the second time this business has been closed due to COVID-19 exposure.
