SUBMITTED BY NELL GIVENS, CO-DIRECTOR OF RIVALS IN RHYTHM:

Two Harrison County middle schools have chosen to work together in the name of music. Bridgeport Middle School and Washington Irving Middle School have formed a new group named Rivals in Rhythm. The group consists of 44 members and is co-directed by Heather Cottrill and Nell Givens. Students practice twice per week; once at BMS and once at WIMS. The student musicians have been practicing since August and on Saturday, Jan. 19, they will present their debut performance at Bridgeport High School. The show begins at 6:30 p.m. in the school auditorium and is free to attend.

Prior to the performance, a spaghetti dinner and silent auction will be held, beginning at 5 p.m. Tickets to the spaghetti dinner are $10 and all proceeds benefit Rivals in Rhythm.
