The Scotty McCreery Weekend Roadtrip is heading our way.

Tickets still remain for the Feb. 21 show at Pittsburgh’s Stage AE and Feb. 23 show at Charleston’s Clay Center.

The 19-year-old country music artist found fast fame when he won the 10th season of American Idol and subsequently nabbed a handful of industry accolades, including the fan-voted “New Artist of the Year” at the 47th Annual Academy of Country Music Awards.

Fans are still in his corner, according to a Clay Center Box Office spokesperson. Since tickets went on sale Feb. 5 for the Feb. 23 show, some 1400 have been spoken for.

While still a high school senior at Garner Magnet High School in Garner, NC, McCreery went on the road, touring with The Band Perry and West Virginia’s own Brad Paisley.

His debut studio album, “Clear as Day” achieved quick platinum status, camped out at the No. 1 spot on Billboard’s charts for several weeks and sold more copies than any other 2012-released country solo album. His first two singles, “I Love You This Big” and “The Trouble With Girls,” were certified gold and McCreery became youngest male artist ever to open at the top of Billboard’s all-genre chart with a first release. His second, “Christmas With Scotty McCreery” was quite popular among fans, as well.

The Christmas holiday has both personal and professional significance for McCreery. His stage debut was as Baby Jesus in a church musical. He later portrayed Joseph in a Christmas play and performed his very first solo, “O Holy Night.” Growing up, McCreery led the praise and worship band, “Audience of One” and was also active in “Die Meistersingers,” a high school chorale group which provided him with some classical vocal experience.

He and his fellow finalist Lauren Alaina drew a record-breaking 122 million votes in American Idol’s Season 10 show finale. McCreery came out on top and won the title at age 17.

Some interesting trivia tidbits about McCreery includes that he plays baseball – and is pretty good at it. He’s also a big Elvis fan and currently attends North Carolina State University.

General admission tickets for the 7 p.m. Feb. 21 show at Pittsburgh’s Stage AE sell for $33.60 and are available at www.ticketmaster.com.
