Last week, Connor joined 5th grade teacher Mrs. Taya Trent's class for Fraction Fiesta Thursday. Students have been working on building basic fraction knowledge this week and they wrapped up their sessions by bringing their pet or a picture of their pet to their Thursday Teams meeting.

Miss Elizabeth Brittain, JES 5th Grade Student, acted as recorder for documenting the number of pets, the type of pets, and assisting with organizing data to create fractions representing our class pets.

Connor surprised everyone by joining the class for their Teams meeting.

"This has been great fun.  He misses the kids," said Bridgeport Police Prevention Resource Officer Jamie Hamrick.

As you can see in the pictures, Connor misses all of the hugs and pets he is used to when he comes to Johnson.  Officer Jamie and Mrs. Trent know how important it is to keep spirits high and keep students engaged during remote instruction, which is why they coordinated efforts to get Connor to class and to have him participate in Fraction Fiesta.  Connor is a fraction wiz!  He did a great job - and so did all of our 5th grad students.

And to wrap up Connor's fraction fiesta - he ate 4/12 of his snack crackers (some of you may be able to reduce that fraction to simplest terms).  Connor's way of reducing that fraction is to finish eating his crackers.

Many thanks to Officer Jamie and Connor for their help.
