A single vehicle accident on Hinkle Lake Road resulted in a patient being air lifted to Ruby Memorial Hospital. The accident happened at 2:50 p.m. about a mile past Hinkle Lake when the driver of a pickup truck lost control. A patient was taken by Bridgeport Emergency Services to the property between Burnside Funeral Home and Burnside Car Wash (near intersection of Virginia Ave. and Rt. 58), where HealthNet landed just before 3:30 p.m. The patient was being evaluated before transport to Ruby. Another transport was made to United Hospital Center via ambulance. The call was dispatched as an accident with entrapment. It is believed that speed may have been a factor. The accident remains under investigation. Also responding was Anmoore EMS. Connect-Bridgeport will report further details as they become available. As of 3:30 p.m., traffic was reduced to one lane at the accident scene. Ben Queen captured additional photos. See them HERE
