Sharon F. Morgan, 77, passed away on Saturday, March 30, 2024, at her home. She was born in Charleston on February 22, 1947, a daughter of the late Earl P. Fawcett and Leah H. Fawcett.
Sharon is survived by her daughters, Jana E. Morgan and her wife Mindy Schmitt and Heather Morgan Bayne and her husband Timothy Bayne; grandchildren, Ailee Morgan Bayne and Cooper Patterson Schmitt; sister and best friend, Debbie Albertson; nephews, Chris Albertson and his wife Julie and their children Leyton and Reilly, Jeff Albertson and his wife Natalie and their children Rory, Liam, and Charlie, and Ryan Albertson and his wife Ashley and their children Rylan, Alex, Tyler, and Kelsie.
In addition to her parents, Sharon was preceded in death by her loving husband, Perry B. Morgan Jr. and brother-in-law, Chuck Albertson.
Sharon earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Fairmont State College and West Virginia University. She worked as a special education teacher for 38 years at East Park Elementary and East Fairmont Jr. High. Sharon was a member of Grace Lutheran Church where she was active on church council for 24 years. She was a charter member of the North Central Emmaus Chrysalis Community, a member of the National Education Association and the West Virginia Education Association, a member of the Kairos Prison Ministry, and was one of the founders of the Marion County Special Olympics.
Sharon was a source of light and love for so many in her community. She didn’t know a stranger and if she knew you she loved you with her whole heart. The light of her life were her two grandchildren, Ailee and Cooper. She devoted her life to her own children, Jana and Heather, who will miss her more than anything. She also mothered so many others throughout her life, and to those who called her mom, she loved you all until the end. Sharon loved God and she is rejoicing in the presence of her Lord and Savior and she is watching over all of those whom she has left behind. As she has said so many times…. “Remember you are never alone. God and I are ALWAYS with you!”
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Sharon’s memory to Grace Lutheran Church, 300 Gaston Ave., Fairmont, WV 26554.
