A heat wave spreading across the country has gotten the attention of President Obama, who is reminding Americans to be conscious of the dangers of extreme heat.

The National Weather Service has issued a hazardous weather outlook for much of our state, including North Central West Virginia. Temperatures could potentially reach the triple digits this weekend, and the combination of hot and humid conditions poses health risks.

"Nausea, vomiting, fatigue are symptoms that someone may becoming overheated," said Margaret Howe-White, nursing director of the Clarksburg-Harrison Health Department.

To avoid these symptoms, officials are advising people to follow some guidelines. See them HERE at WDTV.
