Rev up your engines and drive out to Stonewall Resort on Saturday, August 1, for an afternoon of classic cars and an evening of souped-up rockabilly entertainment.

 

Samantha Norris, community outreach director at Stonewall Resort said, “We’re excited to again host the Summer Knights Cruzin Association for an afternoon car show, as well as great music by Ryan Cain and the Ables.”

 

Norris said the car show will begin at 3 p.m. and is being sponsored by the Stonewall State Park Foundation and the Summer Knights Cruzin Association.  Summer Knights was formed as a non-profit, drug and alcohol free organization in 1986 to bring together car enthusiasts in central West Virginia.  The group will feature all types of cars, including antiques, classics, street rods and street machines.

 

Beginning at 6 p.m., Ryan Cain and the Ables will perform on the Roanoke Activity Plaza Lawn. Founded in 2011, Ryan Cain and the Ables has become West Virginia's premiere rockabilly/retro rock and roll band. The Ables – a 4 piece band – consists of Ryan Cain on vocals/guitar/piano and upright bass, Evan Jones on electric bass guitar and acoustic guitar, Brandon Elmore on upright bass and acoustic guitar and Gary Hamrick on drums.

 

Guests are encouraged to bring their own chairs. Barbecue, from Jaws BBQ, and other food and drink items will be available for purchase at the event.

 

“We hope the public will come out, bring the entire family and enjoy this fantastic day of entertainment at Stonewall Resort,” Norris concluded.

 

There is a $5 per car admission fee to enter Stonewall Resort State Park on August 1. Once inside the park grounds, there is no cost to attend the car show or concert.
