Hannah and Stephan Burns from Bridgeport along with Hunter Mathess and Gavin Erhard from Fairmont will be representing West Virginia next week in the High School VEX Robotics World Tournament in Louisville, Kentucky.  The four homeschool friends began preparing for the Turning Point Competition nearly a year ago; devoting almost 1,500 hours to game analysis, robot engineering, programming, and game play.

This year's challenge included building a robot that could collect and shoot balls, flip and lift caps, and park on a platform.  Their robot, Crush, has had a very successful season; winning the Excellence and Skills Awards at several events, along with Tournament Championships and Design Awards late in the season.

Team programmer, Stephan Burns, said about the upcoming event, "We are excited to meet teams from around the world who share a similar passion for robotics and problem solving.  We are proud to be one of the teams representing West Virginia."

You can watch the Marion COMETS Nebula team (#20610N) in action Thursday-Saturday, April 25th-27th.
