We know how much money West Virginia University brings to Morgantown and Monongalia County, but does it help more of North Central West Virginia too?

John Deskins, Director of WVU's Bureau of Business and Economic Research conducted a study to show that Hairrson, Monongalia, Preston, Taylor and Marion Counties all benefit from the university, according to this report from WDTV.

In 2014 WVU's main campus represented an annual economic boom of $3.6 billion in the five-county region. Deskin's findings also said that more than 26,000 people or 22 percent of the total workforce in the region are employed directly or indirectly with the university.
