By Trina Runner on October 01, 2016 via Connect-Bridgeport.com

Among the more than 40 categories in the 4th Annual Best of West Virginia survey, Bridgeport boasts representation in three categories.  WV Living Magazine features the yearly survey each fall, allowing readers to weigh in on favorites in every category from camping to dining to shopping and more.

This year, Pete Dye Golf Course (which sits just outside the city limits) is in the running for the Best Golfing in West Virginia.  Ranked among America’s 100 Greatest Courses, Pete Dye capitalizes on the natural beauty of Appalachia and the rich history of the state.

Bridgeport resident and WBOY anchor, Gretchen Ross, represents one of only two women in the state who are competing for the Best Media Personality category.  Known for her investigative reporting and bubbly personality, Ross has been embraced by local audiences since relocating to our area from Indiana.

The third Bridgeport nominee listed among the Best of West Virginia is Provence Market owner Anne Hart.  The award-winning chef and founding member of the Bridgeport Farmers Market is vying for Best Chef.

Voting for the Best in West  Virginia will end on October 17 and results will be published in the Winter 2016 WV Living Magazine.  Votes can be cast at www.wvliving.com/bestofwv
