By Connect-Bridgeport Staff on August 21, 2018 via Connect-Bridgeport.com
FROM THE WEST VIRGINIA DIVISION OF HIGHWAYS
The West Virginia Division of Highways advises motorists that there will be a Traffic Delay/Lane Closure on I-79, Exit 136 (Downtown Fairmont) to Exit 138 (East Fairmont, Prickett’s Creek Road), both Northbound and Southbound and it began Monday, August 20, 2018 at 7 p.m. and will go through Friday, October 19, 2018 at 6 a.m.
Pleast note the lane closure is during the evening hours listed above. There is no day time closure.
The purpose for the delay/closure is to latex overlay the existing bridge structure at Exit 137 (East Park Avenue). I-79 will be narrowed to a single lane (12 ft wide) both Northbound and Southbound. Use caution and expect delays. Motorists are advised to plan ahead and allow additional time for their commute.
Please note that inclement weather or unforeseen circumstances could change the project schedule.
