Two BHS Students Among Semifinalists for 2015 West Virginia Scholar Program

Semifinalists have been announced for the 2015 West Virginia Scholar program and among them is Bridgeport High School juniors Margaret Lohmann and Mateah Kittle.
 
The West Virginia Scholar program offers one high school junior the chance to win a full, four-year scholarship to West Virginia Wesleyan, including tuition, and room and board to begin in the fall 2016 semester.  Second place is a four-year, $5,000 scholarship, and third place is a four-year, $2,500 scholarship.
 
Other semifinalists are Kia Barnhart, Tyler Consolidated;  Abigail Chaffins, Spring Valley; Hannah Daniels, Elkins; Breunna Haynes, Parkersburg South; Kathryn Gerbo, University; Ashley Grace, Fairmont; Johnnie-Jo Hovis, Buckhannon-Upshur; Kathern Keith, Gilmer County; Savannah Kite, Moorefield; Adreanna LeMasters, Wheeling Park; Khori Lowther, Lewis County; Sadie McCartney, Elkins; Caitlin Murphy, Tygarts Valley; Hayden Nichols, Herbert Hoover; Katherine Rexroad, Notre Dame; Brianna Ritz, Magnolia; Noah Taylor, Clay County; and McKenzie Whitehair, Ritchie County.
 
An interview process will take place with the semifinalists, and up to 10 finalists will be named May 24.  The final step of the process includes an online voting call between May 24 and June 14. Stay tuned to Connect-Bridgeport for information on how to vote.
 
The winner will be named during a special luncheon on Tuesday, June 16 on Wesleyan’s Buckhannon campus.
