JC Films projects are rolling off, one after another. After filming of “A Child of the King” and “The Zombie Club,” filmed this spring and summer, respectively, President/Executive Producer Jason Campbell recently announced that the police drama “Dispatched” will also be made in Bridgeport, with filming starting in late-September.

As all of JC Films projects do, the trio mentioned above all feature actor Dean Cain with semi-professional actors and several locals portraying other roles.

“I feel like I have a dream team of talent on this film - being able to use so many of my favorite people in this project,” Campbell said.

Cain will play Police Chief Patterson and a member of Bridgeport Police Department will portray Officer Vince. Officer Jerry Campbell will be played by Barry Dailey and in the roles of Mary and Vicki will be JC Films regulars Kathy Sanders and Katherine Shaw. In the role of the mayor is Michael Sigler and in the role of Judge Harris is Kathy Patterson. Jeffry Hans will be played by Bridgeport High School senior Derek Hess and recent BHS graduate Erica Cottrill - who was featured in “The Zombie Club” - will play Veronica. Jeremy Ambler from the TV series “The Walking Dead” will play Billy and Campbell will portray David. There will be need for various extras - including additional members of Bridgeport Police Department.

Also happening this month are the premieres of “A Child of the King” and “The Zombie Club.”

“A Child of the King” is based on a true story of American physician – Dr. King - who received a unique calling from God to protect millions of orphaned and abandoned children dying in the jungles of South America. Though half of the film was shot I n Bridgeport and surrounding areas, the other scenes were filmed in Banos, Ecuador.

The film’s Red Carpet Premiere is 3 p.m. this Sunday, Sept. 8, at Word-Life Assembly God Church in Clarksburg. Dinner will be provided after the screening.

The most anticipated Red Carpet Premiere of “The Zombie Club” – a major undertaking which involved about 150 teens from throughout the state and beyond – is set for 6 p.m. Sept. 28 at Bridgeport High School auditorium. Tickets, $10, can be purchased HERE. All proceeds will benefit anti-bullying education which is the theme of the film. Cain will introduce the film. Doors will open at 5 p.m. with light appetizers served. The film is 90 minutes long. A 1 p.m. screening will be held for cast and crew members, each permitted to bring two guests.
