Update: Bridgeport Boil Water Advisory Lifted

By Connect-Bridgeport Staff on February 08, 2024 via Connect-Bridgeport.com

According to a message from the City of Bridgeport, the Boil Water Advisory has been lifted. The advisory in Clarksburg has also been lifted.

Here is a press release from the Clarksburg Water Board:

The Precautionary Boil Water Advisory that was issued on Tuesday, February 6, 2024, for all water customers in Adamston, Arbutus Park, Broad Oaks, Chestnut Hills, and the Downtown District (including Pike Street, Main Street, and intersecting streets) has been lifted.

Testing indicates that Clarksburg Water Board's water is now safe for drinking and human consumption purposes.  It is no longer necessary to boil your tap water or for you to consume bottled water.

Because water flow was disrupted, flushing of the system was done to remove sediment and assist in maintaining water quality and clarity.  Customers may experience discolored water, but it is not a health hazard.  Officials recommend running the hot and cold water faucets in your home for five to ten minutes to clear any discolored water from your pipes.

The Clarksburg Water Board would like to thank their customers for their patience and understanding during the time of this Advisory. Please share this information with all the other people who drink this water, especially those who may not have received this notice directly (for example, people in apartments, nursing homes, schools, and businesses).  You can do this by posting this notice in apublic place or distributing copies by hand or mail.

For more information, customers can contact customer service by calling (304) 623-3711 or by email at customerservice@clarksburgwater.com.  Additional information can also be found at www.clarksburgwater.com.
