Video: BHS Auditions at Region 10 Band Festival

Kicking off today's Region 10 Band Festival at Bridgeport High School, the BHS Band performed "In All Its Glory" by James Swearingen and "Allegro Barbaro" by Bela Bartok with arrangement by Tom Wallace. Both were grade level 5 selections, being the most difficult. The band received straight superior ratings from all adjudicators. Below is a video snippet of "In All Its Glory" performed by the BHS Band under the direction of Chris Hayslette. 
 
Bridgeport Middle School opened the middle school portion of the festival. Under the direction of Eric Stoneking, the band played "Pantheon" by Michael Sweeney and "Park Street Celebration" by James Swearingen, both grade level 3 pieces. The BMS Band also scored straight superior ratings from all adjudicators. 
 
Throughout today and tomorrow, middle school bands will be adjudicated at the BMS gymnasium and high school bands at the BHS gymnasium. In total, an estimated 2500 young musicians will be taking part in the Region 10 Band Festival. Read more about the event HERE
