By Connect-Bridgeport Staff on February 23, 2018 via Connect-Bridgeport.com

The West Virginia Wesleyan Concert Band will perform a family concert featuring Peter and the Wolf on Wednesday, February 28 at 7 p.m. in the Culpepper Auditorium of the Virginia Thomas Law Center for the Performing Arts. The concert is free and open to the public.

Peter and the Wolf, a symphonic fairytale, is a musical composition written by Sergei Prokofiev in 1936. A narrator tells the children’s story while the musical ensemble illustrates it, with each character of the tale represented by a corresponding instrument. Prokofiev’s most frequently performed work, Peter and the Wolf has been recorded many times.

“This is a perfect time to bring the entire family out for a great evening of music,” stated conductor Logan Lindsey. “We hope we can have the whole community join us for a fun concert.”

The concert band will also perform works including music from Star Wars, Captain America, Moana, and more during the performance.
