WVWC to Host Trio of Fall Open House Events

By Connect-Bridgeport Staff on October 24, 2016 via Connect-Bridgeport.com

The Office of Admissions at West Virginia Wesleyan College will be hosting three fall Saturday open house dates on October 29, November 12, and December 3.  All events begin at 9 a.m. with a check-in in the Emeritus Club Lobby of the Virginia Thomas Law Center for the Performing Arts.

Attending the open house will afford prospective students and their families a chance to tour the beautiful 102-acre Georgian campus, make connections with professors from their intended major, learn about the Admissions and Financial Aid processes, chat with admissions counselors, and hear from current Wesleyan students about what it is really like to live, eat, and study on campus.

There will also be numerous home athletic contests during each of the event days.  During the December 3 open house, auditions for performing and creative arts will be held following the open house programming for any students who attended Governor’s School for the Arts.  Also on December 3, the Athletic Training department will be holding informational sessions following lunch for anyone interested in the program.

“Visiting campus and attending a fall open house is a great way to learn more about West Virginia Wesleyan and opportunities available both in and out of the classroom,” stated Leah Ripley, associate director of admissions.  “Meeting staff, faculty, and current students in various capacities will allow students to better determine if Wesleyan is where they may choose to attend.”

Located in Buckhannon, West Virginia Wesleyan College offers 49 undergraduate majors along with graduate programs in athletic training, business administration, education, English creative writing, and nursing.  Thirteen Wesleyan students have been named Fulbright Scholars, while four others have won international scholarships through the U.S. Department of State.
