By Sharon Saye on June 02, 2021 from Off the Shelf via Connect-Bridgeport.com

For those looking for new books to read, here are some titles released in May you might want to put on your TBR list.

Maggie Shipstead's "Great Circle" tells two stories about two women.  Pilot Marian Graves lived to fly even though women were expected to remain on the ground during the early days of aviation.  Hadley Baxter is the actress hired to play the famous pilot in a movie of her life.

"Secrets of Happiness" by Joan Silber, "The Woman with the Blue Star" by Pam Jenoff and "Project Hail Mary"by Andy Weir all have the advantage of being the newest novels from best-selling authors.

"The Plot" by Jean Hanff Korelitz follows a failed novelist who steals a plot from an unknown author and returns to fame thinking he got away with it.  "People We Meet on Vacation" by Emily Henry involves two friends currently estranged but stuck on vacation together in this hilarious romcom.

And a reminder that the library is holding its annual book sale from June 1 - June 11.  The hours are 12 - 7:30 p.m. on Monday, Wednesday and Friday, and noon until 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday and Thursday.  Prices will vary and will be posted on the door of the Library Conference Room.
